Run by brothers Matthew and Iain Pennington in a Victorian walled garden in the Mendip Hills, the award-winning
is heading to the capital and taking a spot on the rooftop of John Lewis Oxford Street.
The menu will consist of seasonal, ethically-sourced ingredients and will take cues from historic London recipes, whilst still bringing their familiar taste of Somerset to the capital city.
Breaking the news on a post on Instagram, The Ethicurean released the following statement,
“Finally, it is time. After about three months keeping quiet about this, The Ethicurean family are beyond excited to announce that, as of this Saturday 21 October, we will be open on the busiest street in the UK. Our new home until Christmas Eve shall be on the rooftop of
, Oxford Street.
We shall be bringing our famous Welsh Rarebit, and our legendary sticky toffee apple cake (to name but a few) to the big smoke. Bookings shall be open very soon indeed, with more details to follow. Looking forward to welcoming so many of you for a taste of the West.”
