Bulging goodie bag swinging from one arm, you stroll into the glorious Old Vic auditorium and take your seat. The lights dip low and the countdown starts; this could be your year to pick up a coveted Crumbs Award.
Excited yet? With the big night fast approaching, we thought it was about time we let you in on what the lucky ticketholders can expect.
The celebrations take place on Sunday 6 October at the Bristol Old Vic on King Street and will kick off with some ace locally sourced drinks and canapés on arrival provided by (deep breath) – Butcombe Brewing Co, Thatchers Cider, Frobisher’s, Espensen Spirit, Caleño, More Wine, The Real Olive Co, Luscious Organics, The Free-Range Chef, Bath Ales, Pukka Herbs, Jealous Sweets, Snaffling Pig, Nisbets, Made for Drink, Candy Kittens and 6 O’clock Gin. Plus an extremely well-stocked bar!
Past attendees will be pleased to learn that the ever-popular awards goodie bags are making a return and this year will be stuffed to the brim. You’ll find treats from Bath Ales, Frobishers, Pukka, Bristol Harbour Hotel and Spa, Snaffling Pig, Clifton Wine School and First Table, among extra surprises.
Once you’ve taken your seat, Mark Olver – the comedian behind the Belly Laughs initiative and general bringer of guffaws – will be warming up the crowd with his distinctive brand of mischief, having performed for some top shows including 8 out of 10 Cats, 10 O’clock Live, Jonathon Ross, Have I Got News for You and Deal or No Deal. Sound like a deal to you? Yes, we think so.
Act two of the show will see all the winners of the 2019 Crumbs Awards finally revealed and trophies bestowed to said champs. Then, with the award-giving wrapped up, we’ll be hosting an epic after-party in the Bristol Old Vic foyer with live music all the way up to the wee hours of Monday morning.
“We’re thrilled to welcome so many for another great occasion at the Crumbs Awards,” said Steph Dodd, events director at MediaClash, who organises the awards ceremony with her trusty team each year. “We can’t wait to see the best of Bath and Bristol’s foodies celebrate together once again. Good luck to all!”
