We really should have seen this coming. It was revealed today that Beckford Bottle Shop and Box-E have become two of the latest recipients of a Bib Gourmand. The restaurants join Wapping Wharf’s Root in holding the mark of ‘good quality and good value’ as judged by Michelin inspectors.
To bag the award, a restaurant must not only serve top-notch grub but do so with a price tag of £30 or less for three courses, so it really is a feat to be applauded.
Box-E was praised for “its earthy, flavour-packed dishes served by a super-smiley team,” which, no doubt, will keep the gang grinning for the foreseeable future.
Meanwhile, the creativity of the small plates on offer at Beckford Bottle Shop impressed the judges, with inspectors commenting that the dishes “not only taste great but also offer fantastic value for money.”
The only question now is which one are you going to visit first?
We visited Beckford Bottle Shop earlier in the year and were impressed with the cool bar-cum-restaurant-cum-wine-shop vibe. Read our full review here.
