Jonas Lodge from The Bell at Ramsbury near Marlborough and Nick Bennett, the finalist in the 2015 BBC2 MasterChef: The Professionals and now chef at Sudbury House, near Oxford, will soon take their turn to cook at London’s famous Elmore Jam – a live music supper club in Islington.
Jonas cooked at The Elmore Jam in early March and is booked again for a slot in June 2016. His ‘Taste for Wiltshire’ evening was designed from the menu at The Bell where he works as head chef.
Diners were treated to an amuse bouche of cream of mushroom soup, truffle rapeseed oil and fresh Wiltshire truffle; a starter of The Bell’s smoked trout, beetroots and granary bread; the main was slow-cooked Kelmscott pork belly, glazed cheek, braised red cabbage, sprouting broccoli and apple sauce, and dessert was bitter chocolate torte with Wiltshire -grown parsnip ice cream and parsnip crisps. Jonas is now booked to cook at the Elmore Jam on the 16th and 17th June.
Masterchef: The Professionals finalist Nick Bennett who is sous chef at the award-winning Sudbury House Hotel will be taking his turn in the Elmore Jam Supper Club kitchen on the 7th July. No doubt diners will be treated to a selection of winning dishes showcased on the BBC2 cookery competition.
