The country’s first click and collect fish and chip shop

Britain’s best chippy is opening a futuristic new shop

Having landed the win at the National Fish and Chip Shop Awards earlier in the year, Krispies of Exmouth has revealed how they will be keeping up with demand.

Later this month, the champion chippy is set to open the first site of its kind, dedicated to click and collect and delivery. Punters will be able to download a free app and select from the award-winning catches on offer before booking a slot for collection or delivery from the new takeaway branch.

Co-owners Tim and Kelly Barnes have taken on 10 new team members, who will be trained at the flagship shop before moving to the new branch on Pines Road, Exmouth. The pair are even employing their own uniformed delivery team to maintain a high standard of service.

Kelly thinks the new system will ensure they can serve more customers whilst maintaining the award-winning standards that have made them so popular.

“As far as we are aware, our dedicated click and collect and delivery site is the first model of its kind for fish and chip shops in the UK, if not worldwide. It’s going to be an exact replica of what we have at Exeter Road but for delivery and click and collect only. So it will be the same range, fish, potatoes, batter etc.

“We knew there was a market here for delivery and click and collect, it’s just the way the world is going.”
