After two-and-a-half years serving up some of the best patties in Bristol, popular burger joint Squeezed will close its doors on 20 December. Fans of the St Werburger needn’t worry though, as the team are set to reopen in a larger unit just around the corner in the Cargo 1 area of Wapping Wharf in February 2020.
Having been nominated for a Crumbs award and picking up Best Burger Chef at the #NationalBurgerAwards, strong demand regularly sees the current set-up sell out before the end of lunch service. The new venue will increase the level of stock to be kept on-site and will offer indoor seating.
In an Instagram post, owner Alex Hayes also hinted at the return of pie to the menu as well other new lines, and praised the support the business has received.
“Building this business up from the ground has been a humbling experience and an utter privilege. It’s hard to believe how we started out and what we have achieved along the way. I’ve gotten to know so many people and the support from Bristol and beyond and all our customers has blown me away – you have made us who we are and kept us striving to keep our product the best it can be.”
