Local homeless charity Caring in Bristol has announced plans for this year’s Caring at Christmas Project. Working with Michelin-starred chef Josh Eggleton, food redistribution charity FareShare South West and organic supplier The Community Farm, it will provide restaurant quality, zero-waste meals for seven days to people experiencing homelessness in Bristol.
A host of top-notch chefs and restaurateurs have come aboard for kitchen take-overs during the seven day period, including Ben Harvey and Dominic Borel from Pasta Loco, Elloitt and Tess Lidstone from Box-E, and Adrian Kirikmaa of St Monica Trust.
The project will be split across three venues from and, as well as providing three meals a day, will offer 24-hour support, offering shelter, medical care and emotional support.
Eggleton has designed the menus and will be cooking in the meals with his team. He says, “After a little involvement during the 2018 project, it’s great to be more integrated with the work that Caring in Bristol are doing in 2019 – I am really looking forward to working with both the Caring volunteers and the community once again. The work that Caring in Bristol do is amazing, and I am so pleased to be able to link up the Bristol restaurant community with the Caring at Christmas project.”
