With such an amazing selection of businesses right here in Bath, you can cover off all of your Christmas shopping and support local businesses at the same time! Everyone wins, and you get to feel a warm fuzzy feeling inside, that may or may not be celebratory sherry.
If you want to give the gift of Bath this Christmas, we’d suggest:
1. The Fine Cheese Co.
We’re big fans of The Fine Cheese Co. here at
and there’s often a queue out the door in the weeks leading up to Christmas. There are tons of gift ideas this year as well as a very special
(£57) that we’re particularly fond of (yes it comes with the sparklers!)
2. Taste of Bath
Taste of Bath have put together some lovely hampers brimming with goodies from the likes of; Bath Oliver Biscuits, Henny & Joes Chai Syrup, Somerset Hotsauce, and loads more. You can even construct your own hamper and choose what local treats to fill it with.
Foodies ultimate collection
from Taste of Bath (£65) or build your own!
3. Bath Botanics gin
If you’re going to give the gift of gin, why not make it a bottle of this
signature No. 1
botanical gin from Bath Botanics. With three sizes available depending on how generous you are feeling. The 5cl bottles would go quite nicely in homemade crackers we think.
4. Novel Wines
With an incredibly varied selection of wines from all over the world, there’s sure to be something to impress even the most hard-to-buy-for wine fans. Check out our
12 wines of Christmas guide
here that contains everything from English sparkling wine, to Japanese white.
5. Independent spirit
As the website says, “Bath’s finest purveyor of all things booze-related”, including loads or rare beers that you won’t find anywhere else in Bath. Pop into the shop for expert advice, and beers so good looking that you won’t want to drink them. But you will. Because it’s Christmas and you love a salted hazelnut praline porter as much as we do.
The best thing about buying someone a cookery course is that they’ll feel indebted to cook for you. Demuths vegetarian cookery school have anything from creative vegan courses to photography, with evening classes starting at £65. We recommend the
vegan fast and delicious
7. Charlotte Brunswick
Our favourites are the Bath Bun chocolates; milk chocolate with a zesty orange centre, a sprinkle of sugar, and a currant. They were invented by legendary physician and philanthropist Dr Oliver at Bath General hospital in the 1740s. You can revel in the fact that they are both delicious, and technically older than America.
8. Bath fudge shop
Because who doesn’t love fudge?! Get stuck into a fudge making experience, perhaps literally, and you’ll get to take home a six slice box. Starting at £100.
