Woky Fest Chinese New Year celebrations

Woky Ko welcomes in Year of the Dog with pawsome plans...

Kicking off at CARGO1 on 16 February 5.30pm-9.30pm the Woky Ko team will be serving up Korean fried chicken, bao, and milkshakes, as well as traditional 'red envelopes of good fortune'.

Also making a return is the impressive sight of the University of Bristol Lion Dance troupe and drummers. They do know how to celebrate down at WW! Neighbouring businesses are also getting involved with Squeezed, Pickled Brisket, Root , Berthas, Salt & Malt and BOX-E all putting Asian-inspired dishes on their menus for the week.

Now, w e all know that Wapping Wharf is a 12/10 doggo spotting location, but now Woky Ko has formally announced the inaugural Woky Fest best dog competition! For the chance to win, you’ll need to get post your pooch on Instagram with the #WokyFest hashtag and chef Larkin Cen will choose a winner to be presented with a doggie treat and two takeaway Bao for their owner.

Various eateries at Wapping Wharf are also featuring some specially created celebratory dishes on their menus this week with an Asian twist to mark Chinese New Year including:

Berthas: szechuan pepper and orange gelato (13-18 Feb)

Box-E: cured salmon, pickled ginger, sesame and seaweed (16 and 17 Feb)

Cargo Cantina: kung pao chicken tostada with sichuan and habanero (12-17 February)

CUPP: a range of bubble tea and Taiwanese soup (13-17 February)

Pickled Brisket: k imchi reuben and kimchi grilled cheese (14-18 February)

Root: crispy oyster and sweet chilli (12-17 February)

Salt & Malt: crispy fried monkfish cheeks, sticky Asian sauce and sesame (12-18 February)

Squeezed: Big Trouble in Little China burger (16 Feb)
