There's a meaty proposition for the final Cargo 2 Units at Wapping Wharf

Luke Hasell, farmer at The Story Farm and founder of Valleyfest is at it again; opening Meat Box, a butchers, in the very last units at Cargo 2. There’s a simple message behind the venture. ‘Eat. Proper. Meat.’

We caught up with Luke, overseeing progress on the units at Wapping Wharf while juggling several calls on his mobile (a very modern farmer) while work continued for the opening on Nov 2nd. Luke describes Meat Box as “that small but perfectly formed butchers in a box, sourcing the best pasture fed, outdoor reared and organic meat alongside charcuterie and hams from Bristol and Somerset's finest.”

With a successful business and online delivery service running out of Blagdon, Luke is keen to open up the service to the passing commuter trade of Wapping Wharf. There isn’t a website to take orders yet but Luke adds that “people can order by email or text us and get a callback and orders before 2pm each day will be available to collect on your way home.” There’s nothing that gets us through the day more than the promise of picking up a couple of pasture fed steaks on the stroll home!

Alongside steaks, you can expect organic thick-cut Barnsley Lamb chops, Sunday roast favourites, handmade organic burgers, mince and much more. All produce from Meat Box is ethically and sustainably sourced from South West farms.
