The Pony and Trap and Root takeover announced for Valley Fest

The rolling Mendip Hills will once again come to life with cries of ‘get on my land!’
Cementing their spot as one of the tastiest festivals out there, Valley Fest has signed up Josh Eggleton, chef patron of the Michelin-starred Pony and Trap and Rob Howell, head chef at Root, to serve a special supper club at this years festival. If previous years are anything to go by (Legends of the Lake fancy dress, anyone?) diners are in store for quite an experience.

Annie Coplestone of The Monmouth Table, Moro, River Cottage and River Café fame will also be heading to the rolling Mendip hills to provide a spread of delicious tapas in the now familiar festival tipis. The packed food programme will also include food talks, tastings, workshops and an impressive roster of street food stands to keep festival-goers partying all weekend long (or energised for the hobby horse gymkhana.)

The soundtrack to all that munching is looking pretty tasty too. Basement Jaxx will be getting the weekend off on the right foot with a DJ set on Friday night, Razorlight providing the golden touch on Saturday, and Tom Odell will round off the weekend with piano-driven ballads well into the twilight hours of Sunday night.
