The Rectory Hotel reopens after refurb

The Rectory Hotel has had a bit of a facelift.
The already really rather gorgeous country house hotel in Crudwell has just reopened after a refurb, along with The Potting Shed pub across the road (the pair are now under the same ownership).
Expect original features such as flagstone flooring, dark oak panelling and rustic beams and a relaxed, homely ambience where guests are encouraged to kick back and relax.
There’s plenty of space and quiet corners ideal for curling up with the newspapers or chatting over drinks, stunning gardens and even an outdoor swimming pool (y’know, for if summer ever shows its face!)
The hotel’s restaurant makes the most of seasonal ingredients with head chef Tom Conway’s menu full of dishes like English veal with girolles and baby artichokes, grilled lemon sole with Cornish crab and Jersey royals, Wiltshire hogget, and rhubarb soufflé, refreshing salads with locally sourced or home grown ingredients, and comforting classics such as fish pie, roast chicken and wild-boar steaks.
You can visit the restaurant whether you’re staying at the hotel or not, but we’d highly recommend making a proper night of it and booking into one of the 18 individually designed rooms.
