Pierre Koffmann and Marco Pierre White have joined forces to create a brand new dining experience in the city...

What do Pierre Koffmann and Marco Pierre White have in common?

Well, loads, duh.

Both hugely celebrated chefs with styles rooted in classical French cooking, and both the recipients of several Michelin stars over the years, they also worked together at Koffmann’s La Tante Claire in London. It's just been revealed, though, that now they share even more: now they share a restaurant.

Their new brasserie-style venue, named Koffmann and Mr White’s, will be located in the centre of the city at The Abbey Hotel. Marco is already a regular on Bath's dining scene, and can often be spotted tucking into seafood at his favourite local joint, The Scallop Shell. So, he's pretty chuffed that he'll be adding to the directory of restaurants already in the city, saying he's "thrilled to be opening in Bath, a city close to my heart."

Set to open this September, Koffmann and Mr White’s is hoped to appeal to ‘discerning customers wanting good quality, affordable food in a relaxed, stylish and unpretentious environment’, and will fill its menus with the classic English and French food that they’re both so well known for.

Speaking about the restaurant, and the opportunity to work with Pierre again, Marco says, “For many, many, many years I reflected on my career and one of my deepest regrets was not spending more time with Pierre in the kitchen. I am looking forward to being the apprentice once again.”

Returning the compliment, Pierre adds, “Marco is one of the most talented chefs I have ever worked with. I am very much looking forward to our collaboration."

Having been recently taken over, The Abbey Hotel  is embarking upon a bit of a shake up and this new eatery, which will replace Allium, is the first step of the 12-month process. Allium will soon close to allow for the space to be redesigned in time for opening in a couple of months, and booking for the new restaurant are expected to go live in August.
