Belly Laughs' mouth-watering Bristol line-up

Amuse bouche anyone?

Fact 1: The Bristol comedy scene is one of the strongest in the country.

Fact 2: The Bristol food scene is one of the best in the world (whoop!).

Fact 3: Unfortunately the homeless and rough sleeping situation in Bristol is among the worst in the UK.

Bristol-based stand-up comedian and TV warm-up artiste Mark Olver has a plan. He’s going to try and use fact one, and fact two, to raise money, to try and help fact three.

Throughout January there will be a series of bespoke comedy gigs in as many of Bristol’s best food and drink establishments as possible. The current venue list is below and looks amazing. The full line-up of the comedians attending hasn’t been released, but with Mark’s connections, we can assure you that they will all be more than worth it.

As well as having some proper belly laughs, any money raised will go straight to The Julian Trust who work with rough sleepers in Bristol.

Mark will even be putting on a stand-up comedy workshop in Harts Bakery (where else?!) on January 18. He very humbly commented, “Every comedian I have ever lived with has been nominated for the main award in Edinburgh. I have a 4-for-4 hit rate. Now, I'm not claiming full responsibility for the careers of Russell Howard, Jon Richardson, John Robins and Mat Ewins but what I am saying is that sharing your personal space with me will make you famous and rich and successful. Fact.”
