Gill Meller collabs with Quicke's for book launch

Gill Meller cooks up a celebration feast for the launch of Quicke's journal
You hear all the time about the joys of locally grown and sourced food (especially in Devon) so when we heard that one of the oldest working farms had snuck under our noses with a project that celebrates their land, we were first in the doors to take a peek.
This Land, produced by the team at Quicke's with contributions from Gill Meller, Ben Quinn from Woodfired Canteen and Shane Holland from Slow Food UK, is a beautifully created journal showing the symbiotic relationship between the land and the people who work it (which dates back centuries for Quicke's!)
The glorious feast was cooked up by award-winning food author, writer and chef Gill Meller with meat supplied by Pipers Farm and Old Blossom elderflower cider from Sandford Orchards. The celebration menu featured beautifully cooked line-caught mackerel, lamb with new potatoes and to finish a scrummy pavlova.
Mary, the managing director and the 14th generation of Quicke on the family home, welcomed everyone to the launch with this speech, "Our connection to the farm and our land is strong and visceral, we want to celebrate it with a community of people who share our values and our appreciation of nature. This is what the journal is all about."
