Devon broadcaster Judi Spiers and Hungry Sailors star James Strawbridge join the Powderham Food Festival...

This year's Powderham Food Festival is set to be a proper biggun', with 170 exhibitors providing street food and entertainment on the 6 and 7 October. There'll be a plethora of cooking demonstrations and masterclasses sandwiched into the weekend, as well as a comprehensive itinerary of children's activities.

Chefs lined up to appear include acclaimed patisserie chef Colin Bennett, head chef at the award-winning Horn of Plenty Ashley Wright, respected director at the Ashburton Cookery School, Darrin Hosegrove, and Channel 4's Extreme Cake Makers stars Phil and Christine Jensen.

Working hard to make the festival a huge success, festival director Bob Small says, "We are delighted to announce the chef line up – it's really exciting to be joined by so many of the region's finest chefs. Whatever the weather there's lots undercover at the Festival and it's a great day out for the whole family."

Judi Spiers, who has the pleasure of hosting alongside James Strawbridge this year, commented, "I am thrilled to be involved with the Powderham Food Festival. It is a wonderful weekend event set against the backdrop of the glorious Powderham Castle and has really made its mark on the foodie calendar over the last few years."

The two-day festival starts on 6 October from 10am-5pm at Powderham Castle. Early bird tickets are available online now starting at £9 for adults and family tickets for £20.
