What better way to raise money and tackle world hunger than by doing what we do best?

Action Against Hunger has called upon Bristol and Bath restaurants and their punters to get involved with its annual campaign.

Love Food Give Food runs for two months – throughout September and October – and sees hundreds of restaurants across the UK adding a voluntary £1 donation onto diners' bills. The funds raised go straight to the charity and are used in various ways, including to build fully operational kitchens and malnutrition treatment centres.

Action Against Hunger aims to help treat and support the millions of children who suffer from malnutrition all over the globe. Last year the campaign raised £600,000 with the contribution of around 30 Bristol restaurants (go team!).

Co-owner of Box E Tess says, "It's a nice opportunity to share a little bit more about a fantastic charity and the collective total just proves that there is strength in numbers – if everyone gives a little it makes a real difference."

As well as that renowned shipping container restaurant, the likes of Bambalan, The Pig, Bar 44 Bristol, Pho, Aluna and The Gallimaufry are in on the action this year. (You can find a full list of local particiapting restaurants here).

If you have a restaurant there's still time to sign up, and if you just like eating at them, then check the website's directory for places where you can make a donation over dinner.
