6 things to expect at the Crumbs Awards

The Crumbs Awards are exactly one month away...
We’ve been working our socks off behind the scenes (or backstage, if you will) to ensure 14 October at Bristol Old Vic will be a night to remember. There is still a limited number of tickets available for those in the know (that's you), so head over to Wriggle to snap them up, or check out these six things you’ll be missing if you don’t.
1. Banging local drinks and canapes
We can’t say too much, but there will be a plethora of fine beverages throughout the evening to keep everyone hydrated and refreshed – all that excitement applause takes its toll, you know. Fosters Catering will be making a return with delicious canapés like these little beauties, too.
2. Laughs a plenty.
We’ve enlisted Bristol-based comedian Mark Olver as our compere this year. (He bought choc dips to the finalists' party. We didn’t even ask him to, that's just his style.) Mark is the man behind the Belly Laughs initiative and all-round bringer of guffaws, having performed as a warm-up artist for some top shows including Vicar of Dibley, 8 Out of 10 Cats, 10 O’clock Live, Jonathon Ross, Have I Got News for You and Deal or No Deal.
3. The best businesses in Bath and Bristol
The calibre of our finalists is ridiculously high. As well as the individual categories, one finalist will go home as the winner of winners, the ultimate accolade. Be there in person to find out who's picking up those trophies – it’s better than watching on Twitter (although our tweets are hilarious, obvs).
4. Awesome goodie bags
We’re sorry if anyone was planning on walking home after the event – the goodie bags are going to be full to the brim and not especially lightweight. We’re keep the exact contents a secret, because secrets are fun (when you're the one that know's them), and we want to bring a whole different meaning to ‘unexpected item in bagging area’.
5. Entertainment on tap
As much as we wanted to delight you with our four-hour playlist that the team just call ‘the best of Bake Off’, we’ve pulled in the professionals. We’ve got one of Bristol’s best local bands playing the after party; 45s. Expect lots of old-school motown and rock and roll classics, reimagined by this seriously talented and super-fun trio.
6. A few more surprises
In case you didn't catch on just yet, we rather like surprises – and there are plenty to come for attendees. So crack on and book your tickets now to avoid disappointment and on-going regret.
